Runar Netland (born 1993) is a Norwegian drummer, musician, composer and producer. He holds a masters degree in Rhythmic Music Performance, and specializes in genres as jazz, improvised music, folk, and pop.
New album ‘First, Everything’
Runar Netland presents his debut solo album, First, Everything, an exploration of rhythm, form and improvisation rooted in an organic jazz aesthetic. The album weaves melodic structures with free improvisation, creating a listening experience that moves fluidly between stillness and transformation. Inspiration is drawn from natural rhythmic patterns and the cyclical processes of the surrounding world.
The album was released sept 4. on Dugnad rec and is avaliable for purchase on both vinyl and cd.
"First, everything" will be presented live at a release concert on Wednesday, November 4, at Kulturkirken Jakob in Oslo. Joining the concert are the album's entire original lineup - Andreas Ulvo (grand piano), Lyder Røed (trumpet), Mathias Marstrander (pedal steel), Sunniva Shaw (cello), and Martin Ulltang (double bass) - Espen Høydalsvik (sound design)
